DNA structure activity
Using
what you know about the structure of DNA, make a diagram of a strand that
contains the following sequence of six N-bases:
Adenine (A)
Guanine (G)
Thymine (T)
Cytosine (C)
Guanine
Thymine
Use
Basic Shapes (Autoshapes Word menu) to represent the three subunits of the
nucleotide: phosphate, sugar, N-base.
DonŐt forget to draw the bonds between the nucleotides. The handout I provided in class will be
helpful here.
What
would be the approximate length of the six ŇrungÓ strand?
What
would be the length of the total (46 strand) amount of DNA/cell?
